Projects often start with wild speculations and ideas. At first glance and on paper, some of them seem promising. The initial enthusiasm carries the risk of getting lost in an idea and thus wasting time and resources. What at first sounds like an exciting project may not be feasible in practice or cannot achieve the desired quality.
In order not to be blinded by the first idea, the feasibility has to be considered from the very beginning. Right from the start, the team should check whether an idea is realistic. Discussions within the team and with colleagues can help here. At best, a devil’s advocate addresses the risks that could arise throughout the project. An exchange of ideas with a team partner also provides a new perspective, which can reveal new points of criticism but also new possibilities.
